On the authority of ‘Amr bin Shu’ayb from
his father from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allaah [Peace and
Blessings of Allah be upon him] asked:
“Do you know which creation is most
complete in Emaan?”
The Companions [may Allaah be Pleased with
them all] replied by saying, “The Angels.”
He [Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon
him] said, “Why would they not belief when they witness their Lord (i.e. asking
who else)?”
The Companions [may Allaah be Pleased with
them all] replied by saying, “The Prophets.”
He [Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon
him] said, “Why would they not believe in the Revelation when it is directly
Revealed upon them (i.e. asking who else)?”
The Companions [may Allaah be Pleased with
them all] replied by saying, “Then us (i.e. your Companions).”
He [Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon
him] said, “Why would you not believe whilst you witness the Messenger of
Allaah (i.e. asking who else)?”
Then the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of
Allaah be upon him] said, “The best of those who Emaan are those who will come
after you, they will have with them the Book (i.e. the Quraan) and they believe
in it.”

an-Nuboowah (6/538) and classed as Hasan by al-Albaanee in Silsilah (3215)]
