The majority say Khabr
Wahid is Dhunn but necessitates acting upon it if it's proven
Dhahirees and
Mutazilah say it's never knowledge and not acted upon.
Al-Qadariyyah, ar-Raafidah, the Mu’tazilah and some Dhahirees said we
reject it based on 'Aql whilst others say they reject it based on Daleel (i.e. the conditions of it reaching the level of Ilm have not been met).
The Mu'tazilah say it must
be at least narrated two by two in each part of the chain,
Nawawee states that the correct view is
that it's 'Ilm as the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent messengers by themselves, and the Khulpha
after him did the same, likewise the Salaf. Also, 'Aql doesn't negate acting upon Khabr Waahid.
