Parenting Fiqh: The Times when Children Can Go to Their Parents Room and Times When they Need to Seek Permission Before Doing So

Question: At what age should the child start to seek permission before going to his parents
room?
Answer: This has been explained by Allaah in Surah an-Noor, where He Stated:

O you who believe! Let your legal slaves and slave-girls, and those among you who have not come to the age of puberty ask your permission (before they come to your presence) on three occasions; before Fajr (morning) prayer, and while you put off your clothes for the noonday (rest), and after the 'Isha' (late-night) prayer. (These) three times are of privacy for you, other than these times there is no sin on you or on them to move about, attending (helping) you each other. Thus Allah makes clear the Ayat (the Verses of this Qur'an, showing proofs for the legal aspects of permission  for visits, etc.) to you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” [an-Noor 24:58]

After that, He Stated:

And when the children among you come to puberty, then let them (also) ask for permission, as those senior to them (in age). Thus Allah makes clear His Ayat (Commandments and legal obligations) for you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. [an-Noor 24:59]

So before the age of puberty, they should seek permission the three aforementioned times
however after they started or passed puberty, then they should seek permission to enter, at
all times.

The child starts puberty if one of the three signs are present: either he starts ejaculating with
desires, or he grows pubic hair on his armpits or private parts or when he reaches the age of fifteen years old. If these are present, then he must seek permission before entering at any time of the day. This is the case upon entering upon his mother who may be in an indecent state for him to see her in, or it may be his wife, or his sister, the point is that he should ask for permission before entering so that these women will not be surprised when he enters so that they can be descent for him when he enters. As for children or who have not yet started puberty, then they only
need to seek permission during the three times mentioned above.

Chapter: The Beginning of the Revelation (Pt 2)

Then the Prophet returned therewith, his heart was trembling, and he went to Khadija and said: Wrap me up, wrap me up! So they wrapped him till the fear had left him. He then said to Khadija: O Khadija! what has happened to me? and he informed her of the happening, saying: I fear for myself. She replied: It can't be. Be happy. I swear by Allah that He shall never humiliate you. By Allah, you join ties of relationship, you speak the truth, you bear people's burden, you help the destitute, you entertain guests, and you help against the vicissitudes which affect people. Khadija then took him to Waraqa b. Naufal b. Asad b. 'Abd al-'Uzza, and he was the son of Khadija's uncle, i. e., the brother of her father. And he was the man who had embraced Christianity in the Days of Ignorance (i. e. before Islam) and he used to write books in Arabic and, therefore, wrote Injil in Arabic as God willed that he should write. He was very old and had become blind Khadija said to him: O uncle! listen to the son of your brother. Waraqa b. Naufal said: O my nephew! what did you see? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), then, informed him what he had seen, and Waraqa said to him: It is namus that God sent down to Musa. Would that I were then (during your prophetic career) a young man. Would that I might be alive when your people would expel you! The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Will they drive me out? Waraqa said: Yes. Never came a man with a like of what you have brought but met hostilities. If I see your day I shall help you wholeheartedly.

It is narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Abdullah that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) says:
The wahi was intermitted for me for a small span of time and while I was walking, and then the hadith like the one narrated by Yunus was transmitted but with the exception of these words: I was terror-stricken till I fell on the ground. Abu Salama said: Defilement means idols. After this the revelation was speeded up and followed rapidly.

Explanation

The incident with Waraqah bin Nawfal bin Asad
-he was the cousin of Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid bint Asad but she addressed him as uncle out of respect
-they had the same grandfather, Asad
-he became a Christian in the time of Jahilliyyah
-he was well versed both Hebrew and Arabic
-he was well-versed in the old and new testaments and would be able to carry on writing from any place from them
-Namoos is something that brings good news in privacy
-"Jasoos" is the opposite of "Namoos", as it brings about bad news in privacy.
-the scholars are agreed that al-Namoos is another name for Jibreel and he had this name as he had been given the role to give the message of the revelation

Benefits from the Hadith of Jabir
-Jaabir was of the opinion that Mudatthir was the first thing to be revealed but the correct view is that of Aaishah and majority which is that it was Iqra'.

Parenting Fiqh: How to form Rows for Children Whilst Praying Behind the Imaam

Question: If there are small children, between the age of seven and ten years old for example, how do we form their rows? May Allaah Reward you with good.

Answer: The stand in a rows behind the Imaam. If the first row has been completed they then form a second row and completing it, regardless of their age, being seven or above. Young girls should form their rows behind the boys and they should carry making rows in succession as well. Therefore, the children are behind the Imaam ,then the girls row behind the boys, then the girls behind them and the final row is for the women.

However, men should be brought before children but if he comes and finds the rows full, then there is no harm in this (then he should pray with the boys), and if there is no space then he should pray in the rows with the girls, who are standing behind the boys, eve if he mixing with the girls and there is no harm in this. However, he must pray behind the boys only if the rows are full. And then the final row are for the women, even if they are adults they must pray behind the children.

Chapter: The Beginning of the Revelation (Pt 1.)

This hadith has been reported from 'A'isha by another chain of transmitters and the words are:
He (the Holy Prophet) came to Khadija an his heart was trembling. The rest of the hadith has been narrated like one transmitted by Yunus and Ma'mar, but the first part is not mentioned, i. e. the first thing with which was started the revelation to the Prophet was the true vision. And these words like those transmitted by Yunus are mentioned thus: By Allah, Allah would never humiliate you. And there is also a mention of the words of Khadija: O son of my uncle! Listen to the son of your brother.
Explanation
-Isolation is the way of the pious, Khattabi said the Prophet used to love it as creates a fertile heart, it enticed pondering, removes one from the distraction of others and it instilled the fear of Allaah within oneself

-Jibreel hugged him thrice, thrice in order to show the importance, this is a form of Mubaalagha (rhetoric) to do things thrice

-Jibreen hugged him to show the importance of what was coming next, to grab his attention and make him away of the intensity of the revelation that he will receive from now on

-this incident shows the manners that the teacher must install into his student so that study whilst their hearts and minds are alert and attentive

-Jibreel starting with Iqraa is proof that the Basmallah is not part of the Suwar

-The Prophet was scared at the beginning of Wahy because he was scared of the responsibility not because he doubted the authenticity of the Wahy or that it was from Shaytaan, that's why the first words of Wahy were 'Read! In the name of your Lord...', Qadhee.

Benefits from the statement of Khadeejah:
-this was the first Shamaa'il
-it's proof that others new the Akhlaaq of the Prophet
-it's permitted to praise someone to their face if there's a Maslahaha
-doing good will always repel badness to occur upon a person
-empathy is a resumption for those who have been through a frightening experience
-giving good tidings is a means of instilling tranquillity
-it's from the biggest proofs in the perfection of Khadeejah: her insight, strong personalities, firmness in her heart and intellect and her immense wisdom and knowledge.
