-If a person doesn’t
find water or earth, or is unable to use either, then he prays in that state
(i.e. without purifying himself).
Al-Uthaymeen explains that this is because he
is unable and the evidence to support this view is as follows:
-The Statement of the Most High, “fear Him as much as you can” [at-Taghabun: 16]
- The Hadeeth, “If I order you to do something then do it as much you
are able to.” [Reported by al-Bukhaaree (7288) and Muslim (1337)]
-The time for prayer, in this scenario, is more important than seeking
to purify oneself.
