Parenting Fiqh: Are Children who Have Passed Away Reunited with their Parents? And What is Their Fate?

Question: Are children who die before they start puberty, reunited with their parents in the Hereafter? And what is there fate?

Answer: Yes, if they pass away before they start puberty and they are children of Muslim parents, then they will be with them in Jannah, and this is the view of consensus of the Muslims. If they die, they will be in Jannah, the scholars differed on the state of the children of the Mushrikeen, the children of the Muslims will be in Jannah, and in Jannah no one is alone, everyone will be reunited. All of the people of Jannah will be paired with whom they want and they will meet whoever they ask to meet, and they will marry al-Hoor al-‘Ayn and from the women of the Dunya, every man in Jannah will have a wife.

Chapter: The descent of 'Eisa bin Mariam...and how Allah has honored this Ummah

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
By Him in Whose hand is my life, the son of Mary (ﷺ) will soon descend among you as a just judge. He will break crosses, kill swine and abolish Jizya and the wealth will pour forth to such an extent that no one will accept it.
Explanation
-The descending of Esaa is a sign of the Hour
-Esaa is described as Muqsit meaning he will judge by the Sharee'ah of Muhammad
-He will refute those who worship the cross and changed theory religion
-in this is the recommendation to kill pigs if possible, despite some of the Shafi'ees saying we shouldn't unless they are causing harm
-Qaadhee said Esaa will only accept Islam or Jizyah and there will be no war, but this view is weak. Nawawi quotes Khattaabi in saying what this means is he will abandon the Jizyah so it'll only be Islam or death
-Today, if someone pays Jizyah this is accepted but only until Esaa comes
-Wealth and justice will be plenty so nothing will be accepted except Emaan (TN perhaps after the demise of the Jews, wealth will spread)
-Sijdah is being used to refer to Salah
-Salaat during the end of times will be precious because ignorance will spread and people will seek to strengthen their Emaan because they will have no desire for wealth as it will be aplenty. Qadhee suggested that it will be better form of worship than giving in Sadaqah as wealth be plenty.
-Qabla Mawtihi refers to Esaa, with the Tafseer of Aboo Hurayrah so the Ayah means that Esaa will not die except that the false Aqeedah in him and his mother is made clear.
Others from the Mufasiroon stated that it refers to the people of Ahl al-Kitaab, meaning that every Christian will know the truth at the time of death but this will be of no benefit then.
Some said it refers to the death of the Prophet, meaning the clear Aqeedah will be explained before the death of the Prophet.
-Qilaas refers to camels. It means that they will not be looked after as in the Aayah, و اذا العشار عطلت
Qadhee said camels will become worthless but the first view is stronger

Usoolee Benefit
-Who is the Naasikh, Esaa or Muhammad? The answer is that it's the Prophet Muhammad as Prophet already conveyed the Bayaan of the Naskh whilst Esaa is merely going to implement it.
-The legislation started at the time of the Prophet but this is Muqayyid in its time until Esaa comes

Parenting Fiqh: Bringing Children to the Masjid on the Day of Jumu’ah

Question: What is your advice to those who bring their children to the Masjid on the day of Jumu’ah. These children distract those who pray by talking aloud and playing around whilst the Imaam is delivering the Khateeb.

Answer:

Children under the age of seven must stay with their mothers so that they don’t distract the people. It is incumbent that they stay with their families so that they don’t harm people. If the child has reached the age of seven years old, or above, then he must pray with the people because the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him] ordered children to pray and ordered their guardians to obligate them to pray at the age of seven years old, “Command your children to pray as-Salaah at the age of seven years old and hit them at the age of ten years old (if they don’t pray).” So it is upon their fathers and their elder brothers (i.e. guardians) to bring them to prayers and to teach them and if they distract or harm others, then they must be prevented until they come can come to the Masjid in the correct fashion, so that they pray without harming others.

Chapter: Obligation of believing that the message of our Prophet Muhammad (saws) is for all people, and the abrogation of all other religions

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:
There has never been a Prophet amongst the prophets who was not bestowed with a sign amongst the signs which were bestowed (on the earlier prophets). Human beings believed in it and verily I have been conferred upon revelation (the Holy Qur'an) which Allah revealed to me. I hope that I will have the greatest following on the Day of Resurrection.
Explanation
-the greatest miracle given to the prophet is the Quran and its with this people believe him and through this he will have the biggest Ummah on the day of judgement

Some said that the Quran being a miracle means it's powerful in itself and it's not sent in order to challenge with anything else, such as miracles sent to Moosaa to challenge Sihr

Others said it means that each prophet was given a miracle suitable for his nation, and the miracle of the Quran is ongoing until the last day

-it's a miracle in the knowledge it contains, knowledge of the unseen,  about events that occurred and yet to occur, unable to produce anything like it, and it's then most eloquent of speech

-TN: Nawawi refuted the idea of the Ashari's who say we have no Takleef to created the Quran, an idea of Akbar, rather he affirms that the Quran is a miracle in and of itself.
-the prophet said he hopes that the Ummah will be the greatest, saying this when the believers were just a few

-the prophet came to abrogate all other religions
-whoever hasn't heard of the message of Islam is excused
-the Jews and Christians are mentioned specially because they have books and if they have books and knowledge then those less than them then the obligation for those below them is even more emphasised

Parenting Fiqh: Protecting the Masjid from Impurities of Children

Question: We were in the Masjid al-Haram for the purpose of doing ‘Umrah. Because of difficulties in finding a place that night, we  stayed in the Masjid al-Haram for that night alone, and we had with a small child, her age was not above three and a half years old. She fell a sleep and we soon realised that she had urinated on the carpet because it became damp and we were also unable to wash the urine off because many people were sleeping around us. I forgot to wash the urine off after we left, so what must I do? Please benefit us.

Answer: It is obligatory upon you to repent because of what happened and not to repeat this act again. If you must stay in the Masjid al-Haram or the Masjid an-Nabawee or any other Masjid, and you have a child with you, then you must look after her so that her urine or faeces doesn’t impurify the Masjid. And if it does happen then you must be certain in cleaning it up or to notify someone who can do it for you, so that the Masjid remains pure from such impurities. And it is not permissible for someone to be easy going in such matterss, may Allaah Pardon us and you and all the Muslims.

Chapter: Increasing the heart's tranquility with the appearance evidence

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:
We have more claim to doubt than Ibrahim (ﷺ) when he said: My Lord! Show me how Thou wilt quicken the dead. He said: Believeth thou not? He said: Yes! But that my heart may rest at ease. He (the Holy Prophet) observed: May Lord take mercy on Lot, that he wanted a strong support, and had I stayed (in the prison) as long as Yusuf stayed, I would have responded to him who invited me.

Explanation
-Some of The people of innovation stated that Ibrahim doubted but this is far removed from a prophet let alone one of the best of them in Ibrahim.
-He doubted has three meanings: he wanted to see how, he wanted to strengthen his Emaan and Yaseen and he wanted to see how Allaah responds to his Dua'a
-Seeing things from the Ghayb increases Emaan, such a believer wanting to see Jannah or see the Prophet
-The statement of Loot shows dependence in Allaah, because he wanted to defend his visitors from the immoral but supplicated to Allaah and relied upon him so Allaah protected him
-About Yusuf, it's talking about his patience and hie he wouldn't leave until his name was cleared, showing how much he cared for goodness and the truth
-this Hadeeth shows the humility of the Prophet

Parenting Fiqh: Is it Necessary for a Child to have Wudhoo When Touching the Mushaf?

Question: I am a teacher in a primary school and I teach the Noble Quraan as a subject to young girls. These girls are very young in age and they are not able to make Wudhoo very well, perhaps because of this they are not even considered as those who have made Wudhoo. They touch the Mushaf and they follow me as I  recite and they do this whilst they are not in a state of Wudhoo[1]. So are they sinful? And is it compulsory upon me to teach them how to do the Wudhoo or not?

Answer:  If these girls are seven years old then they should be taught on how to make Wudhoo until they do it properly, then they should be allowed to touch the Mushaf. However, if they are not able to make Wudhoo then they are not in a state of Wudhoo, then you should write down the lesson (i.e. what you are teaching them from the Quraan) on the board or on paper  so that they don’t touch the Mushaf (without Wudhoo). And this would be sufficient from you, Allaah Willing, and you should be cautious on doing this, and it is also incumbent upon you to guide them and teach them (to the rulings pertaining to this). May Allaah Reward you with good.

[1] Note, the questioner is asking about a copy of the Quraan in Arabic, not English; as the ruling of being Islaamically pure when touching the Quraan only apply to the Arabic Mushaf: see Majmoo’ of Ibn Baaz (24/340).

Fadl al-Ilm as-Salaf ala Ilm Mun Khalaf (Pt.8): A Comparison Between Beneficial and Non-Beneficial Knowlegde

-The difference between knowing Allaah and knowing the commands of Allaah is that knowing Allah doesn't necessarily mean a person knows what Allah wants from him.

Therefore we must learn what is beneficial knowledge:

-Signs of non-beneficial knowledge:
1. It has no benefit in and of itself or on his actions and manners.
2. It doesn’t distance him from the Dunya.
3. His Dua are not answered.
4. No one benefits from him.

-Signs of beneficial knowledge:
1. They are humble and don’t depend on what they’ve done and learned to think they are secure and have had it accepted – the more they learn the more humble they become.
2. Their Dua is accepted and receive support.
3. They leave the love of the Dunya.
4. Such people have the best of thoughts of Allaah and only get pleased or angered for His Sake.
5. He recognises his own faults and has a clean heart towards others.
6. He is not pleased with praises from people.

End of treatise.
And Allah Knows best.
May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger, his family and Companions.

Makkah Imam: The Honour of Attributing to the Salaf as-Saaleh

Khutbah Delivered by Shaykh Saaleh bin Muhammad aal-Taalib [May Allaah Preserve him]
Grand Masjid, Makkah al-Mukaramah
24/6/1432 – 27/5/2011

After Khutbaah al-Haajah the Shaykh started by saying:
Human development often gives the impression that the later generations are better than the first ones, however the opposite is true in relation to religion and the ‘Aqeedah they have. Looking at the practice of every true religion (i.e. the pattern of the Prophets and Messengers), the first of the generations of each Ummah where better than the last of them. Their Salaf were more guided than the latter generations.

As time progressed, the level of strangeness grew and the lack of knowledge prevailed, thus misguidance became widespread.

إنه من يعِش منكم بعدي فسيرى اختلافًا كثيرًا،

So if one wants to be guided then one must look at the Salaf, this is the case with all the Prophets and Messengers preceded. If one wants to look at the misguidance of a nation, then one can take a glance at the latter ones, those who were misguided.
Imaam Ahmad [May Allaah have Mercy on him] said, “If you see a person reviling any one of the Companions, then doubt that persons Islaam.”

The methodology of the Salaf becomes even dire in its needs when confusion spreads, the ‘Ulema decrease in number and the quantity of the good-doers reduce. Doubts are left to prevail, the truth is dressed with the clothing of falsehood and its people, and between all of this, callers to misguidance and ignorance increase, causing people to be closer to misguidance than that which the Islaam and the Messenger had promoted in the beginning.

The Ummah, in large numbers, have had its children become ignorant. Some of them, and we have good thoughts about them because of their ignorance, have taken up the name attribution to the Salaf and they have named themselves with this level, however they have corrupted communities, conflicted against the organization and as a result this noble tag or label has been effected by it. Even worse, now we have misguidance and disputes within this identifier.

Their enemy has taken this opportunity to target them, and have now debased the attribution to the Salaf as-Saaleh, and some have even labelled this way as being from as-Salafiyyah. So they have taken what is right and made ti wrong and made their exaggeration into something that is moderate and just. To the extent that some even attribute terrorism and extremism as being as-Salafiyyah. They have used the call to return back to the Book and the Sunnah as a form of regression and confusion in the religion, therefore, as-Salafiyyah today has now become an insult with some, a crime to follow, which is all free and innocent from the very essence of its call and whom it is attributed to.
Oh Muslims!

Your Salaf is Muhammad [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him], your Salaf are his Companions and those who lofty generations that followed [May Allaah be Pleased with them all]. So with which book can you kill the innocent or corrupt the treaties a nation has with others?

Your Salaf were always keen to unite the Muslims, one row, pure in their religious beliefs free from any form of alternation or exaggeration. They were united in fighting falsehood, explain affairs to the ignorant. Your Salaf were the most guided and upright on the Correct Path, the best of manners, the most enthusiastic to follow the Book and the Sunnah, the most knowledgeable of the Revelation, and they were the most Muslim out of us all.
Calling oneself Salafee is restricted to the follow of one person or a particular group or sect, rather Salafism is to be obedient and to follow the texts, united upon it and abstaining from disunity and the corruption cause to Muslim accord.

The Salafee Manhaj is Islaam, the first of them being Aboo Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthmaan and ‘Alee. It is the pathway for which Khaalid (bin Waleed) and ‘Sad (bin ‘Abee Waqaas) fought for. It is the path that Hamzah was been martyred and trialled. It is the path of knowledge and wisdom in which Ibn Ma’sood and Ibn ‘Abbaas strove in. It is the path that Hasan, Nakhai’ee, and ash-Shu’bah adhered to. It is the route in which Aboo Haneefah, Maalik, ash-Shafi’ee and ahmad aligned to. It is the path in which mistake was dispelled by al-Bukhaaree, Muslim, Aboo Dawood and at-Tirmidhee.

These are those and many more not mentioned who the path of Salafiyya is ascribed to. Their lives are preserved, their effects are still existent, and their books and works still engraved with ink.

The joyous one is the one who sticks to this call, the way of the Salaf and removes himself from anything that opposes it.

How easy is it to follow the guidance if Allaah Protects us from those who call to misguidance.

Allaah, the Most High, Bares witness to this fact:

'And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajirun) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.' (9:100)

«خيرُ الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلُونهم، ثم الذين يلُونَهم ..» الحديث؛ أخرجه البخاري ومسلم

The Salafee Manhaj covers everything that is needed to derive rulings from and how the Islaamic texts correlate with one another. This covers all aspects of al-Islaam, worship and manners and the way they are applied. This is the foundation of their approach to the texts of al-Islaam, despite this the differences that exist within the Ummah is relative and slender, therefore it is not permissible for anyone to leave the fundamentals set by the Salaf in approaching the Islaamic texts. Likewise, it is not permissible for anyone to attribute themselves to anything other than the way of the Salaf, because in origin, the Muslims must stay free from innovations and inventions into the religion. For this reason, the way of the Salaf prevents the Muslim from falling into such error and sin. Whoever abides by the Book, the Sunnah and Ijmaa (scholarly consensus) is then falling the way of Ahl as-Sunnah, as for the people of innovation and differing, they abide neither of these sources of legislation.

Fadl al-Ilm as-Salaf ala Ilm Mun Khalaf (Pt.7): What is Beneficial Knowledge?

-We know a person is blessed and knowledgeable when he doesn’t spend his time debating and chasing people’s mistakes. Rather he has Fiqh and ‘Amal (righteous actions).

-Beneficial knowledge is to understand the religion, Aqeedah, Tafsir and Fiqh, with the Fiqh and Kalam of the Salaf.

-Ibn Rajab said from the dangers of knowledge is to leave Qiyas in Furoo (peripheral areas), but to use it also use it in Usool (fundamental areas). For example, Ibn Hazm rejected Qiyaas in Furoo but used it in Usool.

-One cannot benefit from the religion if his manners aren’t exemplary, likewise a person who has innovations but good manners hasn’t benefited from the religion.

-Beneficial knowledge has two fruits: 1) knowing Aqeedah properly and acting upon it in his eternal and external acts of worship, and 2) knowing what Allaah Loves and Hates.

-The one with knowledge has fear of Allaah in his manners and statements and actions, thus shows modesty and humility.

al-Khudayr: Knowledge Must Create Taqwa of Allah

Shaykh 'Abdul-Kareem bin 'Abdullah al-Khudayr [May Allaah Preserve him], Member of Permanent Committee of Senior Scholars, Saudi Arabia, said:

Ilm is to understand the Quran and the Sunnah in its proper manner with the objective to get closer to Allah and have fear of him

It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah’ (35:28)

Whatever that doesn’t lead to having Fear in Allah is not ilm in reality

Some may say that there are people who have academic knowledge have more fear in Allah than some students of knowledge, we say this is because of their depth of pondering

And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see?’ (51:21)

This doesn’t mean that they are elevated because of their knowledge but their degree of pondering and consciousness.

Parenting Fiqh: Permissiblity of Children Wearing Nappies During Rituals (and Prayers)

Honourable scholar, the questioner is asking: Is it permissible for me to carry my child in as-Salaat, at-Tawaaf, as-Sa’ee (between as-Safaa and al-Marwa) whilst the child is wearing a nappy - bearing in mind that the nappy may be dirty from within, but it hasn’t leaked.

Answer: There’s no harm in this. If carrying your child whilst you pray has been established to be permissible then how can it be not permissible to carry them in at-Tawaaf and as-Sa’ee. There is no harm in this. If the child is wearing nappies and the impurities within the nappy are contained and don’t leak, there is no harm in this whatsoever.
