Weak narration were transmitted so that:
-We can have a record of what is Saheeh and Da'eef (and in between).
-At certain times, we can use weak narrations as support other Ahaadeeth.
-So that we can
compare which narrations and texts are stronger in Diraayah and Riwaayah, (thus sieving out what is Shaadh etc.).
-That they maybe used
elsewhere as supporting, such as in matters of at-Targheeb and at-Tahreeb or in stories etc.
