Questions asked to Shaykh Sa'd bin Naasir bin Abdul-Azeez ash-Shithree [May Allaah Preserve him] after explanation of Kitaab at-Tawheed

Question: What is the difference between Major and Minor Shirk?
Answer: Major Shirk is to give something that belongs to Allaah to someone or something else. So if the thing that is attributed to other than Allaah in relation to Him being the only God, then it can be Shirk in Lordship. If you give something that belongs to Allaah to one of the creation, then this can be Shirk in Worship. As for that which is connected to a cause and effect, such as attributing something other than Allaah as the reason or cause for something occurring, then this is from the minor Shirk.
Question: Some farmers increase in their agriculture in certain seasons because they know that rain is more likely, is this action Shirk?
Answer: This is not included in seeking rain from the stars because they are taking the stars as being the cause or the reason for the rain to fall.
Question: Why is attributing the cause or reason for something to happen a form of shirk?
Answer: By attributing the cause or reason for something to occur is shirk because the right of Creating and Legislating belong to Allaah alone, thus the cause and reason go back to Him. If we attribute it to other than Allaah, then we are saying that the reason why something happens is from other than Allaah, and this isn’t the reality. So it is as if you have disagreed with what Allaah has allowed or caused to happen and given this right to someone or something else.
Question: Are we allowed to leave Muzdalifah before Fajr on the next day? Answer:
Question: It is Waajib for the person to stay at Muzdalifah, even if it is for a portion of the night, from the sunset of the day before until the sunrise on the next day. This is because, ‘Urwah arrived at Muzdalifah after the time for Fajr had begun and the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him] didn’t nullify his Hajj. Also, the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him] allowed the weak from his family to leave Muzdalifah during the night, before the time for Fajr had begun, so it shows its permissible to stay the whole night, and this reason or permission is not exclusive to these people alone.
There are four views from the scholars on this issue;
Some said that it is counted as one staying at Muzdalifah as long as his vehicle stops at Muzdalifah, this is the view of the Maalikis.
The second view is that the time for leaving Muzdalifah is when the whitness appears in the sky, this is the view of the Shafi’ees and the Hanbalees.
The third view is that the time we can leave is as soon as the moon disappears based on the hadeeth of Asmaa bint Abee Bakr [May Allaah be Pleased with her].
And the fourth view is that it is necessary for us to stay at Muzdalifah at least until the time for Fajr beginning, so we pray Fajr there and then leave. Some even said that this is from the pillars.
Question: Is it permissible for us to stay in a place other than Minaa if we have no tent at Minaa? If we don’t have an appropriate place to stay at Minaa, is it a must that we stay on the roads and sit on the pathways?
Answer: The scholars have two views on this issue. Some said that it is necessary for us to stay to the closest possible location to Minaa. Others from the Fuqahaa said that if they can’t find an appropriate place to stay in Minaa then the obligation is lifted from him, this view is the most correct view.
