Did the Prophet speak directly to Allaah?
-Ahl al-Kalam differed as to whether Allaah Spoke the
Prophet directly.
An-Nawawi states that Abu Hasan opined that he did, this was the
view of Ibn Abbas, Ibn Masood, Ja'far bin Muhammad and others. This is the
meaning of the Aayah in an-Najm, and was the Tafseer of Ibn Abbas and
many.
The majority said "Got closer" means he got closer to Jibreel,
but Nawawi rejects this and quotes Jafar bin Muhammad where he said hat I'd
someone gets close to Allaah, he doesn't need an intermediary.
Qaadhee also states that it's not realistic that the
prophet had many miracles on this night and saw much of the unseen and then got
closer to Jibreel and not Allaah.
