Shaykh
'Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbaad al-Badr (may Allaah Preserve him) was asked after
explaining the Ahaadeeth which describe ripping ones clothes out of wailing for
the deceased as being a major sin:
Questioner:
we play sports and out clothes get torn (or taking clothes off in celebration etc.). Does this carry the same ruling?
He
answered: That is another form of calamity. There is a prohibition connected to
the calamity of death and the question is connected to the calamity of death to
the heart (i.e. sports lead to death of the heart)
