Chapter: The night journey...prayers were enjoined (Pt. 6): Meeting the Prophets

Explanation
-He met Adam and with him were the souls of Banee Adam:

Qaadhee said he had the evil souls in a prison, others said they are located in the lowest earth. As for the souls of the believers they are with him in Jannah.

What this means is that the destination of the souls was presented to Adam during certain times and the Prophets Mi'raaj coincided with the time they were being presented.

It can also mean that the people of fire and the people of Jannah are shown their final abode, this is the view Nawawi leans towards, because of the Ayah, 'They are exposed to the fire, day and night'.

Nawawi said it's also possible that Adam was in between Jannah and the fire, the Jannah to his right and the fire to his left.

-Adam laughing and crying shows true parental skills, the father true concern is towards his child's end.

-Some narrations state that he saw Ibrahim on the 6th others say the 7th. Some said this is because Isra happens twice. Others said he saw him twice, but this view is weaker.
-Nawawi quotes Qaadhee in stating that the writing of the angels is from the unseen and we believe in it without asking how. Rather making Ta'weel based on our Aql is rejected and a sign of weak Eman.

-This event is proof that the Prophet is the best of messengers and his high status with Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all).

-Moosaa was jealous of the number of believers in the Ummah of Muhammad shows that it's permitted to have jealousy in good deeds and following of the Prophets.

-Also, Moosaa jealousy is because he wanted his Ummah to have the quality of good deeds and great rewards. Also, the greater he number the greater the reward for Moosaa which made him cry and be sad.

-Abu Hurayrah narrated that Esaa was described as being tanned skinned but Ibn Umar rejected this wording and even swore that the prophet didn't say it.

Nawawi suggests that the wording tanned was referring to Adam and not Esaa and one of the narrators made an error or it could mean he was slightly coloured but not dark

TN the wording اسمر or احمر can refer to darker as well as lighter skinned coloured complexions
