The wealth you own is a wealth that has been
deposited to you. Its owner is the of all Dominion, the Lord of all Glory and
Might.
As He, the Glorified, Said:
“And give them
something yourselves out of the wealth of Allah which He has bestowed upon you” [an-Noor 24:33]
This is despite the fact that wealth is
something good and beneficial. It is a blessing for those who use it in
accordance with the Sharee’ah of Allaah and under the guidance of that which
the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him] brought.
Allaah, the Glorified and the Exalted, Says:
“Wealth and
children are the adornment of the life of this world” [al-Kahf 18:46]
And He, the Glorified, Says:
“It is prescribed
for you, when death approaches any of you, if he leaves wealth, that he make a
bequest” [al-Baqarah 2:180]
The word “Goodness” or “Khayr” has been used in
reference to wealth.
However, the goodness of wealth is restricted
only for those who use the wealth entrusted to act with it, upon the Sharee’ah
of Allaah.
This is very meaning of the Statement of the
Glorified and the Exalted:
89. Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)].” [ash-Shu’araa 26:88-89]
