Tafseer: So We Sent Upon Them Furious Wind

So We sent upon them furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life, but surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.

[Fussilat 41:16]

Imaam al-Baghawee said in explanation:

A wind was sent to punish them (the people of ‘Aad), it was loud and strong andit completely  destroyed them all.

Others said that this wind was extremely cold, freezing them to death.

[Mukhtasar Ma’aalim at-Tanzeel (Pg. 836)]
