It is reported in Sunnan Abee Dawood (1047),
on the authority of Aws bin Aws [may Allaah be Pleased with him] that the
Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him] said:
“Surely, the best of your days is
Friday. It is the day when Aadam was created, the day he was expelled, the day
in which the soul was breathed in to him and the day he will be resurrected.”
So increase in sending Peace and
Blessings upon me on Friday, because your supplications for me are presented to
me on Friday’s.”
So the Companions [may Allaah be
Pleased with them all] asked, “Oh Messenger of Allaah! How can our deeds be
presented to you when you have become dust?”
He [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be
upon him] replied:
Allaah, the Glorified and the Exalted,
has prohibited the earth to deteriorate the bodies of the Prophets.”
It was classed as Saheeh by
al-Albaanee.
Ibn ‘Allaan [may Allaah have Mercy on
him] said in explanation:
“So increase in sending Peace and
Blessings upon me on Friday”, so that you may reap the rewards of that day and
gain from its virtues. This is because righteous deeds are multiplied in their reward
in places and times of virtue.
