Shaykh
Sa’d bin Naasir ash-Shithree [May Allaah Preserve him]
Jaami’ Ameerah Mawdee
bint Ahmad as-Sudayree
9/4/1434 - 20/2/2013
Aboo Bakr as-Siddeeq [May Allaah be Pleased with him] was
increased in his level to become a Siddeeq in the events that took place after the
Israa and Mi’raaj of the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him],
this was because of his statement, “If he said it, then I believe it because I
believe in something greater than that, that revelation comes down to him from
the Heavens.” i.e. his submission to the Sunnah. [Silsilah as-Saheehah of
Albaanee (306)]
There was also another incident where the Messenger of Allaah
[Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him] bought a camel from somebody, he
paid for it without collecting it. When the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of
Allaah be Upon him] wanted to collect the animal the seller wanted proof or a
witness that he bought this animal as the seller didn’t remember in selling the
animal.
So Khuzaymah bin Thaabit [May Allaah be Pleased with him]
came forward and said I am a witness that he bought this animal. So the
Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him] questioned him, “How can
you witness it when you weren’t there?” So Khuzaymah replied, “By my mother and
my father! I believe that revelation comes from the Heavens (i.e. I believe in
you).” [Narrated by Aboo Dawood (4827) and classed as Saheeh by al-Albaanee in
Saheeh al-Jaami’ (5624)]
So the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be Upon him]
ruled that his witness was that which is worthy of two men.
Look here, the submission to the Sunnah of Khuzaymah [May Allaah
be Pleased with him] was raised in his status from being that of one man to the
witness that which was suffice for two men.
