The
prophet was a shepherd and he was also a businessman for Khadijah.
He travelled to Syria on business trips with her worker whose name was Maysarah.
Before he was a prophet, Prophet Muhammad proved to be honest and successful so
they gave him the name al-Ameen.
Commentary
-The
business arrangement they had is akin to al-Mudaarabah that the scholars permit
today, where the capital is invested by a party and the second party works for
the business, both parties agreeing on a share of the profit and loss.
-He
was called al-Ameen because he was well-known for his trustworthiness, manners,
honesty, and respect for others. He was always righteous in his deeds, even
since childhood. This is because Jibreel
descended upon him whilst Muhammad was still a small child at Bani Sa’d and
cleaned his heart from being afflicted by Shaytaan.
