This tab will display a series of posts taken from the book, “True Emaan and The Innovation of al-Irjaa' (Detachment of Faith) The Old
and New” by the Noble Shaykh, Sa’d bin Naasir ash-Shithree [May Allaah
Preserve him]. The Shaykh is a former Member of the Council of Senior Scholars
and the Committee of Research and Fatwaa, Saudi Arabia and his full biography
is accessible by selecting the “Who is Shaykh Sa'd bin Naasir ash-Shithree [may Allaah Preserve him]?”
tab available on the right.
The biography and the book itself was supervised by the Shaykh when I
translated it, discussing with him issues that arose in the book to ensure proper
understanding of the book's contents. The footnotes added by myself were also approved by the
Shaykh.
The topic of the book is to discuss the position of Ahl as-Sunnah in their belief of what al-Emaan is, comprising of belief, statements and actions. The book also exposes the beliefs of the people of innovation, namely the Murji’ah and the Wa’eediyyah (the Khwaarij and Mu’tazilah). Both of these groups being very much at large in the Ummah today, thus their arguments and impact on 'Aqeedah and worshipping of Allaah being ever-relevant.
The Murji'ah are propagating the idea of change to the Sharee'ah and religious reformation on the pretense that their connection with Allaah is essential and implementing the laws within the religion, otherwise seen as sub-issues of the Sharee'ah are not significant.
As for the Wa'eediyyah then this is a term used to tackle the idea that major sins exists a person out of al-Islaam. Based on this idea, the Khwaarij have spilled innocent blood and have declared everyone that opposes them as being Kuffaar or apostates.
This book is a transcript of a lecture delivered at the Grand Masjid in
Riyadh in which Muftee ‘Abdul-‘Azeez aal as-Shaykh [may Allaah Preserve him] was
present and the first post will display the Shaykh’s comments about the topic
and the book.
Upon I Allaah, His Grace and Blessings are sought…
