Who is Shaykh Sa'd bin Naasir ash-Shithree [may Allaah Preserve him]?

His name is Dr. Sa’d bin Naasir bin ‘Abdul-‘Azeez Aboo Habeeb ash-Shithree. He comes from a family which is well-founded in knowledge. So it was at a young age that Shaykh Sa’d begun to seek Islaamic knowledge. He completed his studies at Imaam Muhammad bin Sa’ood University in ar-Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, graduating from the faculty of Sharee’ah. Thereafter, he continued studying completing a master’s degree at the same university. His dissertation was entitled, ‘The Difference between Usool and Furoo’ (Principles and its Branches). He then went on to complete his doctorate degree at the same university in 1417 AH with the thesis, ‘Definitive and Subjective evidences with the Usooliyeen’.

Up until now the Shaykh continues to work with the university in the Faculty of Sharee’ah in ar-Riyadh, specialising in the disciplines of ‘Maqaasid ash-Sharee’ah’ (The Objectives of Sharee’ah), Qawaa’id al-Fiqhiyyah (Foundations in Fiqh) and Usool al-Fiqh (The Principles of Fiqh).

-Shaykh ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin Naasir al-Baraak
-Shaykh ‘Abdul-Kareem bin ‘Abdullah al-Khudayr
-Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez ar-Raajihee

Shaykh ‘Abdul-‘Azeez aal ash-Shaykh, the Grand Muftee of Saudi Arabia [may Allaah Preserve him] said about him:

The Shaykh in this lecture [The Realities of al-Emaan delivered in Jaami' al-Imaam Turkee bin 'Abdallah (Jaami' al-Kabeer) in ar-Riyadh (5/6/1422)] has explained the foundations and principles in proficient manner and structured it impeccably. He dealt with the topic which is extremely chaotic. How many have been mistaken in their understanding and been led astray when trying to understand the issues raised here?

However the Shaykh, may Allaah Assist him, has been given precise knowledge and a strong understanding with the ability to clearly explain, extracting from this topic a beneficial study.

The topic is surrounded with doubts which clouds the truth from falsehood but the Shaykh simplified. There is no doubt that all of this is with the success he has received from Allaah and His Guidance,  the One He Guides the hearts of the believers:

“Oh Allaah! The Lord of Jibraaeel, Mikaaeel and Israafeel! The Creator of the Heavens and the Earths! The One Who Knows the unseen! You are the Judge between His Slaves in what they differed in! Guide me from their differences to the truth, through Your Permission! Truly, You are the One Who Guides Whom He Wills to the Straight Path![1]

The one whom Allaah Guides, even if the people were to differ with him, will find the clear and blatant truth, the upright methodology which is in accordance to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Those who gain this have been guided to the correct path. Surely, the texts of the Quraan cannot be contradictory or incosistent and likewise the texts of the Sunnah. Rather, all of it is clear and ready for us to learn from to whom Allaah gives Success and Guides.
