Jahmiyyah and Their Beliefs in the Revelation

The Jahmee believe that what Allaah Sent Down in the Quraan is created. They say the meaning of Sending Down Revelation is like the sending of iron;

وَأَنزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ

“And We have sent down iron” [al-Hadeed 57:25]

Just as iron is created, so is the Quraan. They claim that both iron and the Quraan are seprate entities to Allaah and thus from his creation.

Response: Ahl as-Sunnah say that the Revelation of the Quraan comes with a context of its being from Him, thus being Divine.

اتَّبِعُوا أَحْسَنَ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُم

“And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord” [az-Zumar 39:55]

Aayaat like this one and those similar to it prove that the Quraan is from Allaah, His Own Essence (Dhaat) thus being from the Attributes (Speech, Knowledge etc) of Allaah. Unlike Iron, which is a separate created entity and not attributed to the Dhaat of Allaah.
