Shaykh
al-Islaam Ibn al-Qayyim [may Allaah have Mercy on him and Purify his soul]
said:
The slave will
never taste the sweetness of faith (al-Emaan) or the flavor of truthfulness
(as-Sidq) nor reach the level of certainty (al-Yaqeen) until they eradicate
every trace of Jaahiliyyah (sins, manners and desires before one started
practicing Islaam) from their hearts.
