Imaam of the Haram in Makkah Shaykh Sa'ood bin
Ibraaheem as-Shuraym [May Allaah Preserve him] tweeted:
The despicable does not like to look in the
mirror lest his vileness be made plain clear for himself to witness. Likewise,
the oppressor does not like for his oppression and fear to be challenged, even
if he is reminded to fear Allaah:
"206. And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah", he is
led by arrogance to (more) crime. So enough for him is Hell, and worst indeed
is that place to rest!" [al-Baqarah 2: 206]
القبيح لا يحب النظر إلى المرآة؛ﻷنها تكشف قبحه بوضوح؛فكذلك الظالم
لا يحب من ينكر ظلمه أو يخوفه بالله(وإذا قيل له اتق الله أخذته العزة باﻹثم).
