Question: We were in the Masjid al-Haram
for the purpose of doing ‘Umrah. Because of difficulties in finding a place
that night, we stayed in the Masjid
al-Haram for that night alone, and we had with a small child, her age was not
above three and a half years old. She fell a sleep and we soon realised that
she had urinated on the carpet because it became damp and we were also unable
to wash the urine off because many people were sleeping around us. I forgot to
wash the urine off after we left, so what must I do? Please benefit us.
Answer: It is obligatory upon you to repent
because of what happened and not to repeat this act again. If you must stay in
the Masjid al-Haram or the Masjid an-Nabawee or any other Masjid, and you have
a child with you, then you must look after her so that her urine or faeces
doesn’t impurify the Masjid. And if it does happen then you must be certain in
cleaning it up or to notify someone who can do it for you, so that the Masjid
remains pure from such impurities. And it is not permissible for someone to be
easy going in such matterss, may Allaah Pardon us and you and all the Muslims.
