Imaam ‘Abdur-Rahmaan as-Sa’dee [may Allaah have
Mercy on them] said:
Hearts are of three types:
1. A heart which is soft and strong
2. A heart which is hard and rough.
3. A heart which is weak and unstable.
As for the soft and strong, it seeks the truth
and immediately accepts it.
As for the hard and rough, then this one
despises the truth and it has become hard as a result.
As for the weak and unstable, then this heart
seeks the truth but is not firm upon it.
