Haafidh al-Allaamah Zayn
ad-Deen Abdur-Rahmaan bin Ahmad Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalee [May Allaah have Mercy on
him] said:
The essence of hypocrisy in ones actions is when one does deeds and in its appearance it seems as if he desires good. He has arrives to this form of deception because it is his objective to do so. He is pleased with planning and deceiving others and loves the praises he receives from his fellow people when he does these apparent acts of righteousness. So he has arrived at all of this because of his evil dishonesty, a dishonesty that is concealed within and this is the description Allaah has given in the Quraan of the hypocrites…
