Sa'eed bin Jubayr (Allah have mercy on him)[1]
used to use the time before Isha prayers to rest during Ramadhan. Then he used
to stand the length of the night.

[1] He
heard from Aisha, Abu Hurayrah, Ibn Abbas and others from the Companions (Allah
be pleased with them all). Ibn Abbas appointed him to give Fatwa whilst in the
Companions were still alive.
