Tafseer: Grammatical Benefit of the Aayah, “All Praises Belong to Allaah, the Lord of the Creation” (1:1)

Question: Is there a difference between saying 'Al-humdulilah’ (الحمد لله) and ‘Ahmadu Allaah’ (أحمد الله)

The Answer:

A nominal sentence (الجملة الاسمية) is used for reinforcement and something constant.

A verb sentence (الجملة الفعلية) is used for something that reoccurs habitually or something that is about to begin.

For this reason, Allaah, the Most High, Started with a nominal sentence as it is stronger in its meaning and greater in its affirmation.
