So it is incumbent on all the Muslims that they should Fear Allaah and to be sincere to Him. The Muslims also need to truly believe in His Messenger Muhammad [Peace and Blessings of Allaah upon him], that he is the Final Prophet sent to whole of mankind and jinn and that there will be no Prophet after him. Along with this, the Muslims need to fulfil the obligations upon us, leave what is prohibited for us, to enjoining and help each in doing deeds of piety and to encourage each other to adhere to the truth and to be patient upon it. The Muslims also need to reject any form of Shirk and the religions of the people of Shirk, whoever dies doing the above will enter Paradise without reckoning or punishment.
From the virtues and benefit of having Tawheed and having Eemaan in Allaah and the Prophet Muhammad [Peace and Blessings of Allaah upon him] and abandoning all forms of Shirk, is that if one commits sins, even if they are major sins like fornication or drinking alcohol, then because of his belief in Tawheed and having Eeman he will be saved from being punished in Hellfire for eternity. However commits sins like these will be under the Will of Allaah on the Day of Judgement, if He wants He might punish or forgive, so due to the virtue of Tawheed and Eeman is that one may will be forgiven his sins, even if it is after some form of punishment.
“”Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.” [4:48]
In this Ayaah Allaah informs us that He will never forgive the person who dies doing Shirk, but if someone dies with Tawheed and any other sin then He will forgive it. He may forgive the person who has Tawheed from the sins he has committed. Furthermore, the person of Tawheed may also be entitled to the intercession of the Angels, Messengers, Prophets and the pious slaves of Allaah.
“And there are many angels in the heavens, whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He wills and is pleased with.” [53:26]
So whoever dies doing Shirk will not be forgiven but as any other types of sin then Allaah will forgive it.
The Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah upon him] also informed us that he will intercede on behalf those who committed sins from this Ummah, even if some of them were being punished in the Hellfire, the Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah upon him] will continue to intercede for them on numerous occasions. Those who had Tawheed will benefit from this intercession and they will be taken out from the Hellfire, by the Mercy of Allaah. So the Hellfire will be only full of disbelievers, they will stay there for eternity.
“They will long to get out of the Fire, but never will they get out therefrom; and theirs will be a lasting torment.” [5:37]
There are many Ayaat that share a similar meaning. What we have said above is the view of Ahl al-Sunnah which has been narrated from the Companions [May Allaah be Pleased with them all]. May Allaah make us all of them. And Allaah is the Source of all strength.
