What Can we Do for the Muslims in Gaza? (3)

Question: what is obligatory upon with the events that have occurred with our in Palestine?

Answer (a summary):

-Turning to Allah with Dua that Allah gives victory to Islam and the Muslims and that Allah unites their word on the truth, the Tawhid of Allah and actions that Please Him.

-A person must be upset by what is happening.

And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much.” (42:30)

It is not permitted to insult or rebuke the Muslims for what has befallen them.

-It is obligatory for us to take an admonition from it. We remind them and ourselves of Taqwa.

Talq bin Habeeb (d. 100 H) was asked about something very similar:

They asked, “O Shaykh, we have experienced a great deal of Fitnah so what is the solution?”

He said, “Taqwa of Allah (the Glorified and Exalted).”

So they asked, “Describe Taqwa to us.”

He said, “Taqwa is that you obey Allah, with light from Allah, seeing the reward of Allah. That you stay away from the disobedience from Allah, with light from Allah, fearing the punishment of Allah.

Taqwa is the way out of all calamities and difficulites (cf. 65:2).

-Muslims today are deficient in something important: gaining a closeness to Allah

Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salat. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur’an as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures).” (22:41)

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).” (22:55)

Yesterday I  heard a person calling out, “O Salahuddeen (al-Ayubi)!” Isn’t this Shirk with Allah? Supplicate to Allah, to your Lord!

Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him said), “The latter generations will not find rectification except that which rectified the first generation.” [ash-Shifa of al-Qadhi ‘Iyyad, 2/87-88]

This requires a return to Allah.

The Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said, “Soon the nations will gather around a table like they gather around for a meal.” So they asked, “Will we be small in number?” He (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said, “No, rather you will be great in number but you will be like the foam on top of the sea.” [Abu Dawood, 4297 and classed as Saheeh by Al-Albani]

A return back to Allah in belief, statement and action is the way to attaining honour and victory.

Having weaponry would never bring about honour and victory.

In many of the Muslim lands people are worshipping the graves and asking them for victory [TN: had their false Aqidah been correct we wouldn’t be weak. Had their scholars known the unseen then surely they would have the ability to bring about benefit or remove harm. But these are exclusive rights that belong only to Allah, the Most High]

Turkmani: A Response of Eman to the Events in Gaza

My advice on events such as this, is that the response shouldn’t be a political one, because people are already following the news and aware as to what is happening (politically), but the response should be a spiritual one, an educational one.

As a starting point, we have to realise that this life is a life of being tested and trialled and that Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted) is testing us, commanding us, trialing us with the actions of one over another. Some will test others. From this, He will test you in affairs which will occur in the apparent world around us, such as earthquakes and eruptions and the likes. Likewise, we will be tested by being overcome by the enemy. Today, what is happening Palestine – all of this is within this context. It is a test and trial for us all.

The strong person (in this situation) is being tested so that he doesn’t oppress. The weak person (in this situation) is also being tested so that he remains patient. The disbeliever is being tested in that Allah has Given him strength, wealth, health, that he has a firm hand in the life of this Dunya – as a means of gradual progression against him (الاستدراج). And the Muslim, Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted) is testing him with being in a position of weakness and being oppressed etc.

So, the response should be in asking, “What is required from us?” (because we are all being tested).

The answer: what is required from us is to understand the nature of this test. We pursue a path seeking the Pleasure of Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted). We must realise why we are here, where we are going and why exactly are these events occurring. As a result, we must stand with the Muslims and aid them with whatever we can. We ally with them and we must realise that they are the people of truth. We mustn’t be with the people of falsehood. In this country (the UK), if a person is able to help his brothers through the licensed channels, then this is good, and whatever else a person can do to support and strengthen the Eman of those watching on and giving them insight and to distance them from a political analysis.

al-Uthaymeen: Ruling on Wanting Badness to Befall the Muslims

Shaykh Muhammad bin Saaleh al-Uthaymeen (Allah have Mercy on him) was asked about those who say, "I wish the Jews would kill all the Muslims."

He responded:

I seek refuge in Allah, had we known who said such a thing we would have suspicions for this person which would affect the validity of his religion.
